What is your favorite thing about singing? What inspires you about it?
Everyone can relate to singing in some way because everybody sings. No one has to guess about
what sort of message you are trying to convey because they can hear it in the words you are
saying.
What are your plans after high school?
I will be attending Carnegie Mellon University located in Pittsburgh, PA, as a freshman Musical
Theatre Major. From there, the plan is to move to New York and start working as an actor.
What are your dreams/goals in life?
The dream, ever since I was a little kid, was to be a professional actor; on the stage, movies,
wherever it was that I got to act. That has really only intensified as I have gotten older. Someday,
I would also like to have a family of my own.
Why did you want to participate in Spotlight?
The Music Center's Spotlight Awards have become a staple in the Musical Theatre world of
Southern California. I had always heard about them, but it had never worked out for me to
audition. Then by chance this year I got a notification of an audition nearby and I went for it. I
had no idea I would make it as far as I have. But I believe there are no accidents when you let
God steer your life.
What qualities do you believe helped make you into the successful artist that you are today?
I have accepted that fact that life often does not work out the way you plan and that failure at
some point is imminent. How you pick yourself up after the failure is what counts. Men of
genius do not make mistakes. Their errors are volitional and are the portals of discovery!-
James Joyce.
What was the most important thing you learned from doing Spotlight?
I have really just discovered the limitless capabilities of myself and other individuals my age.
What it has done is solidified my decision to pursue a career in the arts; that this is really what I
want to do with my life.
What other skills or talents do you have that other people may not know about you?
Ilove cooking. I think I'm pretty good at it! All I know is that is tastes good!
